Every piece starts with some sort of inspiration. Whether it is an element that exists on a ring you have seen before, or a style of ring that works well with your lifestyle, a unique design that will set your ring apart from any other you have seen, or maybe its a design you have been dreaming of since you were little. The custom process is a great way for you to get everything you want in a piece while making it entirely unique and reflecting who you are and your style. It starts by sitting down together, and me listening to your wants, needs, and us working together and talking through ideas. By the end of the meeting I have a feel for what elements you want in a ring, your inspirations, and desires that I can create a design that echoes your words. I then start out with some sketches and meet with the guest to see which one you feel the most drawn to, or if you are not feeling any ideas or want to tweak a few things, I then go back to the drawing board. Once the sketch is agreed upon, I move onto the wax process, and this is where the design turns from two-dimensional to three dimensional and really takes on a more realistic form where you can start to see the ring emerging. We get together so you can see the wax and really get a true vision of what the ring will look like without it being finalized in metal. Then I use the lost wax casting process and this is where the wax is burned out and makes an impression in the investment, which in turn makes an exact replica of your ring, in whatever metal you desire. Then the finishing process takes place, where the ring gets cleaned up, stones get set, milgrain or finishing enhancements are applied, and then final polishing or finishing takes place. This process is about 6-8 weeks, but will always depend on scheduling and the availability for meetings to keep the project on task. I look forward to creating the ring of your dreams through this amazing custom process.
